1. Introduce Eva Papamargariti.

• Artist, Designer, Art Director.
• Visual Communication Design MA, Royal College of Art (2016).
• She has collaborated and created work for different brands like NIKE, Kenzo, Boiler Room, MTV, Diesel, River Island, among others.
• She has exhibited her work in institutions, museums and festivals such as the New Museum (New York), Whitney Musem (New York), Tate Britain (London), MAAT Museum (Lisbon), Museum of Moving Image (New York), MoMA PS1 (New York), Museum of Contemporary Art, Montreal, Transmediale Festival, Berlin.

• In your pairs, what do you want to explore about a grid of pixels?
• You live in a visual culture, what do you want to question about it?
• How to See the World by Nicholas Mirzoeff - a book on visual culture.
• My favourite is Agnes Martin. The Tate Modern on Agnes Martin (great quote!).
• Sol LeWitt was a pioneer in minimalist and conceptual art, drawing up rules or algorithms that then could be carried out by anyone - "The system is the work of art; the visual work of art is the proof of the system"
• Solving Sol, Javascript implementations of his works.

2. Brief: the materiality of pixels (continued).

• History of Design Systems by Rune Madsen has a series of references on Sol LeWitt and others.
• Great recent article on Generative Art by Jason Bailey.
• All works must be published on the brand new p5.js Web Editor.

3. Crit: the materiality of pixels.

• Present your work in pairs.
• We will crit the work as a group.
• What works? What doesn't? Why? What would you add? What would you take away?
